Your personal AI is the next home appliance

The more I wrap my head around the capabilities of Claude Mythos, the more I keep going back to a conversation I had with my ex-business partner, Ryoichi Ando, in 2018 in Shibuya, Tokyo.
Pre-gen-AI, we were discussing the future of software, and he imagined every person having a small data center at home — a server, a local AI, an external memory bank, and a battery. None of it connected to the internet.
That conversation felt like science fiction at the time. It doesn't anymore.
Mythos in a government's hands could mean mass surveillance. Your photos, your text messages, your emails, everything becomes officially vulnerable and trivially easy to access the moment these institutions get their hands on a model this powerful.
So this morning, while having coffee with my wife, we started, for the first time, to look very seriously into what a local setup could look like. And the more we (Catalina Lotero) talked about it, the more we realized this is just a new home appliance. Like a router, like a modem. Something that lives in your house and runs your personal AI, your data, your privacy. Offline. Yours.
Because Mythos is here, and there is no putting that paste back in the tube.
